Today ran smoothly: we were able to get everyone to our destination of Puerto Cabezas on 3 separate planes, we had some free time. Those on the first flight made it in time for church. The rest were here in time to get settled into room assignments, enjoy playing with the orphans, some took naps, all had a great first day.
After savoring the amazing dinner, we took a brief break and then had what we refer to as "porch time.". This is an opportunity at the end of each day to share what we are learning, encourage one another, sing, share and get a debrief of what is to come the following day. Let me just say tha everyone's attitudes have been extremely positive despite travel delays, a short power outage and a couple of missing bags. I sat and listened as every student shared a different thing that they were thankful for in processing our first day at the orphanage. It was very encouraging and the group is now of to bed on their rooms. We are set to meet again at 7:20 in the morning for quiet times before breakfast (5:20 EST) and then we will get our work assignments for construction. Special thanks ro those of you who are praying for the trip, we can tell! More tomorrow.
Thank you for keeping us at home connected through your posts!
